Things You Need to Doodle

Actually you does not have to doodle on a sketch or drawing book. You can do it on any media, you might want to do it on your bedroom wall or in a beverage packaging or on any supporting media. I personally would like to doodle on a sketch book, with consideration of neatness and ease of organizing all of the work that I have made.

2. Pencil

What is the use of a pencil in a doodle art? Pencils can be useful to make a preliminary sketch of doodle that has been drawn by your imagination. I would recommend you to use a HB grade pencil since it has a light intensity, then you are no hassles when erasing. It is also useful in minimizing the paper damage effect that occurs when you use the eraser. You may want to use a normal 2B pencil, but try to keep your scratches remain light, so it's easy when you are erasing.

3. Eraser

You'll need eraser to remove unnecessary outlines on your doodle work, or to soften/smooth edges.

4. Drawing Pen

Drawing pen can be useful to refine the initial sketch that you have created. You can use 0.2 and 0.1 or 0.5 and 0.8 point depending on your taste. I usually start with 0.2 and 0.8 point, 0.2 point for shading and create the three-dimensional impression (Providing the right perspective can make you doodle look attractive). While 0.8 point to sharpen sketch as I mentioned at the beginning.

5. Felt-tip Pen

Markers serve to thicken (contrast) the outer lines that exist in your doodle, so with the added effect of thick markers, you can create extra contrast to your doodle work.
