16. Aitor & Nagore Wedding Card Designed by La caja de tipos
According to the RAE (Spanish language academy) a wedding is a ceremony by which two people are united in marriage and where both parts are indispensable in order to carry it out. When we met with Aitor and Nagore to talk about the invitation that we were going to design for them, we commented that this concept seemed very important to us and that it must be present because in some way it is the essence of the event. They liked the idea so much that we go ahead with it.
We decided that for a project with so much meaning, we had to take risks and use a different material, a clear acetate divided in two pieces where each one contains part of the text of the invitation. To emphasize even more the concept of unity that we wanted to convey, we separate the text by letters scattered randomly on both acetates. Thus, the only way to read the text and understand the invitation was to bring together these two acetates, as in a wedding.
17. Counting The Days Designed by Until Sunday
In 2012, a happy couple, a Sicilian bride and a Dutch groom, hired me to design
an unforgettable invitation to announce their wedding. They were looking forward to that day so much, that the only thing that came to my mind was to design a sort of calendar. The invitation has on its front a wheel that counts down the days to the day of the wedding. The “countdown” took a really funny turn when few weeks before the wedding, all the guests started to publish the number of days left until the wedding on the bride and groom’s Facebook page!
The invitation is printed in two colours (red symbol of Sicily and orange, Dutch national colour) and printed on a Vintage paper by Arjo Wiggins. For the occasion, I also redesigned Sicily’s logotype, adding some tulips, the Netherland’s symbolic flower.

33. Get Hitched Wedding Invitation Designed by Charlotte Fosdike
Get Hitched was a unique project to design for, as the clientele was my fiancé and myself. I have always found it difficult to design for myself because of the ever-broadening scope of ideas and the many varied ways in which the project can be executed. The drive and creativity which is so useful to a designer to overcome the often restrictive nature of client-driven projects almost becomes detrimental, as it becomes nigh impossible to reel in the imagination to manageable, realistic levels. The only way I could deal with this was to treat myself as I would any other client, setting myself deadlines and sticking to self-imposed rules.
