In the UK, sales of bagels rose by 44 per cent during 2012. A need to protect them and transport them was recognised. And so, the bagel protector was born. The protector is a sturdy circular case, with a hole through the middle, keeping the bagel in place. The New York Bakery Co, chose to produce a low volume run as part of a Facebook-based marketing campaign.

Greyston approached Motto to help introduce their brownies to Whole Foods across the country. Consistent with their social mission, profits from this brownie go to Whole Planet Foundation to fund micro-loans for entrepreneurs in rural communities worldwide who supply products to Whole Foods Market stores.
There was a need for distinctive packaging that would have great presence wherever they are placed in the store. Whether the brownies are cuddled in baskets at the bakery counter, displayed at the coffee bar, in a POP display on the retail shelf, or at the register, the packaging needed to have impact to engage an impulse buy and convey product benefits in an easy first read. The design personality needed to reflect the homemade, natural and artisanal quality of the product as well as seize the opportunity to convey the social mission and tell the brand story.

Virtues Bakery is a bakery devoted to spreading “Goodness,” the highest of all virtues. Virtues feeds you, inside and out, offering a quip and a virtue on each packaged piece. The branding, packaging, and marketing systems are based on principles of wit, virtuous living, and Organic ingredients. The Virtues system includes take-home
containers for ready-made baked goods, as well as organic baking ingredients for customers to use at home. Each virtue corresponds to the product it accompanies. Containers are made from recycled paperboard and kraft paper, labeled with Kitikana paper and Soy ink.

Sullivan Street Bakery is a legendary bakery in NYC. They were interested in moving the brand into new products and needed a system that would extend the visual language.

The Walmart Bakery look was antiquated, traditional, and without personality or voice. We were approached to create a more enjoyable shopping experience and build overall credibility to help establish Walmart as the authority for fresh baked goods. Starting with the identity and continuing through the packaging system, the new look communicates a modern specialty bakery feel, emphasizing the products and conveying a greater sense of freshness. To ensure brand consistency, special consideration was given to preexisting logistics and production limitations. The new design uses a clean and efficient communication system with easy navigation, functional color coding and flavor callouts easily identifiable at a glance.
42. Botanical Bakery Cheese Snaps
Carrying on the legacy of Botanical Bakery's color-infused assault on the shortbread world, the next goal was liberating man caves of predictable flavors and formula packaging. The new Cheese Snaps product line required a color range so dramatic, life, taste buds and retinas would never ever be the same again.
43. Zoey's Delectable Treats
Student project to create packaging for a specialty bakery: Zoey's Delectable treats is a fictional bakery, made just for dogs. It features all natural treats and dog food blends made with 100% natural, human quality ingredients. In creating the packaging for the bakery, I wanted to use recyclable materials that would fit in with the overall tone of the business. I chose to use kraft paper bags and cardstock to create small boxes for freshly baked treats. The cardboard canister would be used to package food and could be brought in and refilled for a reduced price. The menu is pinned to a board to make it simple to adjust if any changes needed to be made seasonally.

District Mill Bakery needed an identity that reflected its authenticity and craftsmanship. The new brand uses elements of a traditional bakery. The cookie cutter seal reflects the bakery’s reputation for quality. The off white and chalk black introduce modern simplicity and mimics the industrial feel of the neighbourhood.

Attention dog lovers everywhere! Bone-Appetit is a new bakery where you can dine with your dog. Forget those silly restaurants where your dog can’t sit inside, Bone-Appetit is more than happy to serve your dog and treat them like canine royalty.

A specific box, designed to hold a single cupcake that looked just as good as the treat itself. The box designed playfully mimics an actual cupcake and keeps the cupcake securely in place so it is not damaged in transportation. The decorative box enforces the thoughtful notion of a gifter on a budget.
