Sources of inspiration: Design is a discipline that is formed by a diverse and eclectic set of influences from both past and present, which informs a variety of choices and decisions made during the design process. The effect may be profound or partial and can affect the overall structure and content of the work, or appear as a subtle twist.
Sources of Graphic Design Inspiration
Urban environment
Designers can be influenced by the vernacular language of the urban environment to produce a piece of the current and modern, classic or working with ideas when dealing with spacing and proportions.
Art
Art has always influenced by the design. The principles that have defined and guided art movement was prepared, has adapted and brought into the design, particularly those related to page layout and composition. For example, the rule of thirds is used to determine the focal point in a piece of work, while the rules of chance is used to create a more interesting composition.
Film
Proximity motion pictures, and a sequence of images to inspire designers often resulting layout structure and publications in similar ways. For example, the book discusses the importance of speed and narration in a work, aspects that can be structured like a film. Pace and intensity can be changed and manipulated through the use of different treatments for the layout, images and text.
Culture
The majority of designs are produced to serve the present need so that there is a common cultural reference or influence for a piece of work aims to attract the target audience. Design and music seem to have a symbiotic relationship as a designer can follow the principles of music to inject pace or rhythm to the project. A designer can mimic the beat of the music through the use of images that have a large scale or free text page interlude in the flow of content, creating different beats in how the page content is divided between image and text pages.
Attractions
Collections of objects and items found can also provide a set of eclectic and exciting effect. Designers actively looking for inspiration for their work in different locations, even in their respective cities. At other times, inspiration may come from an object in their studio. These influences can creep into design decisions. Many designers to surround themselves with interesting objects, pictures, posters and other stimuli to continue to be inspired.

Graphic designers take inspiration from all creative fields, including the fields of design, such as furniture and interiors. Indeed, many creative people do not see themselves as being limited to a single discipline.
