2. X-Doria Electronic Packaging Designed by Knoed Creative
“X-Doria is an international electronic accessories brand. They came to us in need of a complete brand overhaul including a new vision for the brand, redesigning the logo, designing a new packaging system and a shiny new website. With competitors like Incase and Griffin, we had to make sure their packaging turned heads without alienating them from the market. Careful consideration was also given to the logo, making sure it would work well across all applications like embossing, stamping and embroidery.”
3. WISPR Electronic Packaging Designed by Sequitur Creative & Thing Tank
“We were tapped by the world’s leading manufacturer of portable ‘herbal’ vaporizers (yes, those) and asked to help them them create a category. Their previous vaporizer, the IOLITE, was a huge, huge success. But they wanted to reach out to a whole new demographic—basically design-savvy, urban consumers who wouldn’t be caught dead in a head shop. People who, given the option, would go bananas for a vaporizer that was entirely at home in their home, next to their iPhone. And their Chemex. And their Tivoli Radio. And the keys to their 3 Series. Our brief: to concept, position, name, package, and market a line of vaporizers that are as covetable and elegant as they are intuitive and easy to use. A few hilarious un-focused groups later, and voila! The WISPR.”
4. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Andrew Jonathan & Elvina Evania
“360 is a new line of IP security camera that connects via Wi-Fi, so the viewer can access the camera from a remote location on their laptop or smartphone. Its rotating feature informed the name and the logo of the product.
Since the client was low on budget, we decided to put the camera in a plain cardboard box, and put all the branding and the information about the camera on a separate sleeve that wraps the box. A low-cost solution while still maintaining visual aesthetic and the security of the product itself.”

The company started in fall 2010 with the classic Motorola StarTAC flip phones first popularized by famous 90′s actors such as Michael Douglas (The Game) and re-clad it with colourful glossy colors.
By customizing those second-hand mobile phones, Lëkki promotes a “back to basics” philosophy (phone+text) and makes a commitment to sustainable development and recycling, through putting iconic objects from the past back into service.”

The customizable slider comes in 3 different colors and the 40mm speaker offers a better frequency distribution and a full-spectrum sound quality with a lighter bass and detailed high frequency notes.”
8. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Spencer Bigum
“The design of the package was created to be simple, bold, and iconic. To make buying a battery, like buying a toy! The traditional package of the battery was reversed to first optimize the amount of space to design on and second, the removal of all plastic needed to be used on the package. A die-cut is made to show the “copper top” and the size of the battery for a visual reference as to what type – AA, AAA, D etc… in addition to the call out on the front of the package. Simple clean typography supports the idea of simple but bold and a new symbol for rechargeable was created to help promote and sell this smarter type of battery.”
9. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Ryan Chung
“The brief: To create an identity for a line of vitamins sold in upmarket health food stores and organic markets. Design a logo and packaging.
The solution:The wordmark’s hand-cut feel, paired with modern typography communicates quality. Deckle-edged labels with die cuts reveal the contents of the bottles. The warm brown of the bottles adds a nostalgic touch while protecting the contents from the sunlight.”
10. Sifteo Electronic Packaging Designed by New Deal Design
“The packaging we created for Sifteo is a playful and communicative showcase for the young company’s first-ever product. A distinctive design language drawn from iconic dance step patterns mirrors the interaction of the Cubes and provides an element of storytelling. A shimmering arrangement of stylized Cubes is printed on the packaging with a spot-UV finish; showing the cubes in motion with dashed arrows illustrating their next move.
Graphics are purposefully layered throughout the Starter Kit packaging to provide cues to the user of the contents within. A large clear window in the sleeve reveals the Cubes. As you slide off the sleeve you are presented with a Wi-Fi dongle and a quick-start card. Removing the quick-start card reveals the Cubes dock. Behind interfolded paper additional items are stored – cables and charger. Fun and lively color pops reinforce the playful branding of Sifteo and serve as a visual contrast for the individual Cubes displayed. This process of discovery is geared to simplify the introduction of the first-of-its-kind fun device.”

12. INQ Mobile Electronic Packaging Designed by INQ Mobile
This richly illustrated box makes quite a change from the plain mobile phone packaging that many of us are used to seeing.
The purpose of packaging varies by product. As a rule, cellphone packaging works to protect the goods inside rather than actively advertise, as often a cellphone is decided upon and purchased before the packaging is even seen by the consumer. The brands which go the extra step to make their packaging interesting are the ones that understand that brand experience continues past the point of sale.

“The redesign of General Electric CFL light bulbs is aimed to bring a friendlier shelf presence through the use of basic informative graphics. An advantage of the redesign is the ability to stack the packages together to complete the graphical form of a CFL light bulb. The top and bottom of each package might look familiar, they graphically resemble what the top and bottom of a CFL light bulb. Also something to note is each wattage has it’s own color identity.
The redesign also considered the environment, the new design is packaged with post consumer cardboard rather than calm shell plastic. This ensures the use of less natural resources and therefore less impact on the environment. GE would also allow consumers to put old CFL light bulbs back in these packages and mail them back to be recycled.”

“Compared to previous clamshell packages, the new executions are more space efficient, have less environmental impact, are easier to open and the usage scenario unfolds in a semantic way.
The ‘unboxing’ is linear, so all cables and components relate to a graphic inside the box lid that serves as a quick setup guide. Plastic tray has been traded out for a 80% recycled paper pulp, begasse. Begasse has a velvety texture and is more refined than what comes to mind when you think of paper pulp.”
19. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Carli Shipley
“In efforts to reuse, versus recycle, I designed a package that would enable the HP Ink consumer to send back their empty ink cartridge in the self addressed, same box that the new ink cartridge is bought in. Conceptually, HP would start a “refilling” option, where the user would order their next cartridge online ahead of time and receive a discount by entering a the code found on the box.
I chose to use recycled chipboard as my material and to screen print the graphics (using only process inks cyan, magenta, yellow and black).
The ink cartridges are packaged separately, allowing the consumer to purchase only the ink that is empty – Black or CMY. The package also provides a simple and quick solution for recycling empty ink cartridges.”

“Mizco imports and distributes an extensive line of cell phone and electronic accessories under 3 brand names- iEssentials, Cellular Innovations and Digipower.
The brands are sold primarily thru discount retailers in the United States, Canada and Mexico. “I redesigned the Sony packaging for their Vaio, Cyber Shot and EX ear buds. While researching the company, I found a letter from the CEO to stockholders explaining that Sony products “change the way people experience the world.” This statement inspired these packages, which have an outer sleeve with die cuts of the Sony logo and the product name on the back. On the inner boxes are images of nature that relate to the products inside. We wanted to design packaging that not only looks good but can be used by the customer over and over.”
24. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Kayla Jang
A charming, retro-inspired conceptual design for GE Christmas Lights using a colour palette not normally seen in this product sector.
“The assignment was to redesign the packaging and identity of an ordinary object. I chose the GE Christmas Light Package and I wanted to make it bright and cheerful as christmas light by avoiding clichés. The colorful overlapped shapes are expressed as translucent bulbs and snow flakes as light inside the bulbs.”
25. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by Corinne Pant
“Choosing plastic wrap for non-perishable items is often a choice that is unjustifiable for the real needs of the product. To address this problem, Corinne Pant looked at the real needs of electronic parts packaging. In a poetic and very functional gesture, it shows us once again that “less is more”.”
26. Student Work Electronic Packaging Designed by David San Miguel

“The perfect mash up of the 3 things you love? Well yes, if designer Aaron Atchison of Feed the Beasts’ new project Mugo, has anything to say about it. Mugo is a USB flash based MP3 player and storage drive wrapped around an urban vinyl skin by acclaimed artists such as: Julie West, Shin Tanaka, Tougui, Yup and Pulco Mayo.

This line consists of dozens of different products in a wide variety of packaging types. The striking design has ensured that, despite all these differences, the line as a whole remains highly visible in the stores. At the same time, variations in the shape and colour ensure that the various product groups in the line are clearly distinguishable from each other.”
39. INQ Mobile Electronic Packaging Designed by INQ Mobile
“Communication is at the heart of everything we do. We express this in our brand through one of its most striking and creative aspects: art. Not in any lofty way, but in vibrant and streetwise forms: illustration, comics, film – whatever we like really, whatever catches our eye.
With the INQ1 box we wanted to create an object of beauty – something to cherish not chuck. All too often, packaging ends up in landfills, or recycling bins at best. While we’d like people to keep it, use it and treasure it.
When we design our handsets we remix and edit internet services so that they play best on a mobile. Similarly, our in-house creative studio, Elmer Zinkhann and Ashley Benigno, remixed the idea of a box and made it into a place to display artwork.”
